I had been taking another collagen supplement brand for 5 months and noticed some strengthening of my nails but they would still break after a certain length, although my skin was less flakey. I stopped taking this brand for 2 months while looking for another supplement to try (and yes, the dry skin returned). I'm in my early 40s and have always kept a healthy diet (lots of veggies/fruit, grains, herbal soups. minimal meat, sugar, salt, snack foods, coffee).It has now been a full 7 days since I started taking Collagen Booster. I'm only taking 1 pill a day instead of the suggested 2 pills (this stuff isn't cheap). In about 3-4 days I noticed my nails feeling stronger. They have a harder sound when I tap them against the table, and only faint breakage if I'm handling something and not careful with my nails, which can be fixed by trimming and filing. I'm noticing that my skin looks less tired and more hydrated. I still have some fine lines on my forehead (too much frowning) but not as pronounced. My skin also appears brighter. Today I noticed that my hair feels less dry, which I didn't experience with the previous brand (I have a mix of white and natural dark brown hair). I'm hoping this will help increase hair growth as well.In addition, I've noticed that I'm sleeping better. Again, something I didn't experience with previous brand. When I wake up I don't feel tired anymore. And squats don't feel so stressful on my knees. I also take this supplement with a multivitamin that contains vitamin C.It's only been 1 week, and I'm noticing these results. I will continue taking and see how things progress.I bought this quite a while ago and waited a few months to try it because I worry about ingesting things that I am not sure about. I finally took the plunge and took a couple of capsules and didn't die or have side effects so I started taking four a day for a week then went to two a day. In the first few weeks, I saw changes to my skin. I am not one of those people who believe any anti aging hype and I didn't expect to see any improvement. But I did see some. It appeared that my thin face was plumping a little. The fine lines looked a little less noticeable and my skin looked better.I finished off this bottle and bought another with more capsules. I took them all and...my face hasn't seen any improvement since the first blush of what I thought was improvement in the early weeks. I had high hopes after I saw the early results but nothing has happened since that I can tell. Certainly nothing very noticeable. Now I am a quandary. I am out of the capsules and need to decide whether to keep on taking them or just give up. I haven't taken any in a week and I don't see any difference in my skin now than when I was taking them.I may buy one more bottle and continue on since I have no side effects at all and they don't bother my stomach. They may be doing something for my skin and need more time for me to see the results. I did indeed see results at first so I am kind of confused as to why I didn't continue seeing them. So now I will sit here and decide if if it worth another $30-$40 for a bottle to see if I will get more results with time. I am reading such great reviews which encourage me but I also read that consuming collagen does nothing and that our bodies just absorb and flush it out. I am going with 3 stars because I did really see a change in my skin at first. I will probably end up buying more and seeing what happens in 2- 3 month's time. If I see no improvement by then,well, I gave it my best shot and will discontinue and update this review. I think it's wort giving this product a try. It isn't overly expensive and it doesn't seem to be hard on the stomach or interfere with medications so it if nothing else, it's a benign substance for most people and it could give you glowing results. Everyone's skin is different and each of us has different needs. I am hoping if I do buy another bottle that I see the same sort of improvement as I did at first. I'm in my mid thirties and purchased this to help with joint mobility but have noticed that my skin looks amazing in addition to having far less achy joints. When I first started taking the pills I was still eating wheat and other grains and didn't notice any change. I cut out all grains and noticed a big difference! To repeat the results, I had wheat again and was bed-ridden within hours after eating it. I then went off wheat again, had rice and oats and was fine, so wheat is one of the culprits after doing some research to confirm. Just in case there's someone out there with the same issue :-)One major note of caution though, these are not vegetarian since Hyaluronic acid in the amounts necessary to produce pills on this scale come from the connective tissue of chicken. Why they put "vegetarian" on the label is beyond me. If you are vegetarian (I was, which is why I know these pills cannot be) you might want to try Soy instead. HOWEVER...Soy causes a lot of problems in people, especially women and women who have a history of breast cancer, since it raises Estrogen levels which will in turn raise the levels of Hyaluronic acid in your body.So if you want great skin with the bonus of more joint mobility—get this! If you want more joint mobility with the added bonus of great skin—get this! But if you're a vegetarian research your options and get something else because these are soooo not vegetarian.
